| When you want a great bass player for a
top-name act, who you gonna call?
In considering the world of the ultimate sideman, the first act that came to my mind was the Rolling Stones. And not only does Darryl Jones tour with them, he also records with them. He has worked with Sting, Miles Davis, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, and many more, plus he has crossed over to the world of film in both an acting as well as a filmscoring capacity. Definitely on the list of super sidemen. Putting this story together was both fun and challenging. Darryl had a break between the North American and Eastern legs of the Stones tour and returned home to Los Angeles. Photographer Glen La Ferman managed a shoot in Hollywood. Thanks Glen!
